NPNet Account Security

Please be reminded of the upcoming security enhancements to the staff NPNet account policies:

• With effect from 8 July 2014, staff will not be able to reuse the 10 most recent passwords when selecting a new password. This is to make it difficult for anyone from guessing the password.
  
  
• With effect from 4 August 2014, the NPNet account will be locked after 10 unsuccessful log-in attempts. The account will be automatically unlocked after 20 minutes. This is to prevent automated brute force attacks.
  

NPNet Menu Access

From 3 July 2014, there will be a new "NPNetMenu" icon on your computer desktop.


This will enable Windows 8 users to access the NPNet menu links quickly. The NPNet menu option under the Windows Start button will be removed as the menu option is incompatible with the new MeL Collaborate launcher.

Please try out the desktop shortcut today.

System Maintenance

Sat, 5 Jul 2014, 8:30am to 3pm

Network access at Block 90, 92 and 94 at Kismis Apartments will be interrupted during the maintenance from 8:30am to 3pm.

Sat, 5 Jul 2014, 10am to 12noon

Staff Intranet and SET application will not be available during hardware upgrade from 10am to 12noon.

Users may experience momentarily slowness when accessing the following services:

NP Homepage - www.np.edu.sg
Staff Portal - staffhome.np.edu.sg

NPWeb Site Content Managers, please do not update the website during maintenance.

All NPAL2 services for staff and student will not be available during maintenance.
