Use Of Portable Storage

Colleagues are reminded to use NP-issued portable hard disks. To prevent accidental data leak, colleagues are required to secure sensitive files either with Password, Rights Management for Microsoft Office documents or place them into hard disks protected by Drive Encryption.

Do remember to keep your notebooks and storage media under lock and key so as to prevent loss and accidental data leak.

For lost notebooks and storage media such as thumb drives and hard disks, issued by NP, please contact FIN and complete the "Loss Of Asset" Report Form which is available here.

Is TrueCrypt Safe?

According to online reports, TrueCrypt, a free file/disk encryption software, contains some unfixed security issue which raise concerns from colleagues who are using it.

Colleagues could use VeraCrypt which is based on the TrueCrypt 7.1a and addresses the security issues of TrueCrypt. Click here for the installation guide.
