IT Security Awareness Briefing

The IT Security Awareness briefings are here again! Staff are reminded to attend the briefing at least once every 2 years as it serves to refresh us of safe IT practices and NP's Acceptable Use Policy.

In addition, the briefing will help staff prepare for the annual IDA Infocomm Security Awareness Survey (SAS) for FY2012. IDA will email directly to selected NP staff between 8 Jan and 4 Feb 2013.

Avoid Being a Tool of Cyber Attack

Hackers commonly attack an organization through its weakest link (i.e. you and I). This way, the attack becomes difficult to detect and trace. How do we avoid being used for such a cyber attack ?

IT Helpdesks will be relocated to Blk 27 Level 1

The current IT Helpdesks at Blk 46 and Blk 72 will be relocated to Blk 27 Level 1 towards the end of November.

Look out for the posters on notice boards for the actual date of relocation. SMS will be sent to students nearer the date.

New labs at Blk 72 Level 5

Level 6 labs in Blk 72 were relocated to Level 5. The newly renovated labs were open for classes at the beginning of Oct 2012 semester.

Staff and students accessing campus IT resources from the Internet may encounter some interruption during the maintenance window.

Staff and students accessing MeL may encounter occasional interruption during the maintenance window.

Staff may experience occasional interruptions in Staff Mail during maintenance. Lotus Notes applications will be unavailable during the maintenance window.

All NPal services for Staff and Students will be unavailable during maintenance on Sun, 4 Nov 2012 from 1 to 4pm for the application of security patches.
