Important Info on Windows 10

On 29 July, Microsoft released Windows 10. Staff is not recommended to upgrade their computers to Windows 10. Please take note of the important changes below:

• Some web pages (with ActiveXs) do not work in the new web browser, "Edge", tapping the "More actions" icon at the top right corner in Edge and then select "Open with Internet Explorer" will open the web page in the Internet Explorer 11.


• NP VPN does not work in Windows 10. Work is now in progress to resolve the compatibility issue and more updates will be provided at a later date.

Email Etiquette

Email is used more frequently than the phone nowadays. Knowing the basic email etiquette will improve the email experience for yourself and others. Below are some useful tips:

• Use "BCC" when emailing a group of contacts who do not know each other to respect their privacy.

• Use the "Reply to All" only when required, to avoid increasing others' email volume unnecessarily.

• Use the "Forward with Attachments" only when required. For big attachments, avoid forwarding it to a big group of contacts.

• Save attachment in Sharepoint and email staff with link to the Sharepoint Library.

• Avoid using abbreviations or text "emoticons" as your recipients may not know what they mean.
