Outlook Security Enhancement FAQ

The email system has been upgraded recently for better spam email filtering. In the past, the subject of a spam email would be prefixed with "[Suspected Spam]".

In the upgraded version, the email system will hold back suspected spam emails in the server and send notification email to the user for future action. Colleagues will receive email from do-not-reply@np.edu.sg with the subject "[Postmaster] Messages on hold for abc@np.edu.sg"

The notification email will prompt user for further action. The actions listed in the notification email are as below:-

• Release - The system would forward the mail to your inbox only for this time.  You will be prompted again via notification email when the Sender sends again.
  
  
• Block - The system will permanently discard all emails from this Sender.
  
  
• Permit - The system will always deliver all emails from this sender to your mailbox.  No further prompting.

Outlook Tips: Wrap Text for Picture(s) in Email

When composing an email with picture(s), here is a good tip for the picture to retain its position in the mail replied/ forwarded by the recipient.

Simply insert/paste picture in the email, then right-click on the picture and select "Wrap Text" > "Top and Bottom".

Wireless@SG in NP Campus

From 1st Oct 2016, Wireless@SG hotspots will be available at the following locations:

• Lien Ying Chow Library (Library Level 4 and 5)
• CET office (Blk 50 Level 1)
• Convention Centre (Foyer, Basement, LT68E, and study area)   

After 30th Sept 2016, Wireless@SG hotspots at the following locations will be terminated:

• The Atrium (Blk 1)
• Teaching Hub (Blk 56 Level 1)
