NP EasiShare – Enterprise Storage Solution for NP Full-time Staff

Image

We will be rolling out EasiShare to NP Full-time staff in Sep 2017.

EasiShare is a secure enterprise storage solution for staff to back up their work data and files.

Each full-time staff will be granted a storage space of 50GB.

This solution will be replacing M: drive.

Do look forward to your EasiShare account activation email in the coming weeks.

Lock Your NICE Computer Screen Before Leaving Your Workspace

Step 1: Press Ctrl + Alt + Del on your keyboard.

Step 2: Select the “Lock” or “Lock This Computer” option to lock your computer’s screen.

The screen lock takes immediate effect instead of waiting for the 20 minutes inactivity timeout on your NICE (NP-issued and centrally-managed equipment) computer.

An unlocked computer screen on an unattended notebook is an invitation for unauthorized access to all your open applications with personal or classified data.

These may include any applications or files that you have been working on before leaving your workspace.  For example:

· Email

· NPal systems

· Staff Intranet

· Any documents secured with RMS

In fact, your data on the entire hard disk could be accessible by any passerby. Don’t let this be the weakest link!

Use only NICE computers for accessing, storing and processing classified information.

Keep Your IDs and Passwords Confidential

· Do not share with anyone.

· You are responsible and accountable for all activities conducted via your accounts. Do not email your Staff ID and Password to anyone.

· Do not key in your Staff ID and Password at any unfamiliar site.  Hackers may steal your account information.

· Do not record your password on any medium, e.g. on paper, soft copy file or handheld device as others may pick it up.

· Ensure you have setup the necessary challenge questions or information for Password Reset.

· If you suspect your NPNet password has been compromised, change your password immediately via NPNet Change Password and report to Support@np.edu.sg.

Avoid Storing Password in Your PC

Image

Password management applications such as MyPassword, 1Password – Password Manager, F-Secure KEY Password Manager etc. can be a great help in storing all your login credentials in one place. However, these applications are also susceptible to malicious attack and hackers are able to gain access to all your account credentials.

It is advisable to not use password management applications to store your online login credentials.
