Stay Connected with Graduate Class of 2013 via Alumni Email address

From 27 Jun 2013, the email addresses of Graduate Class 2013 will be converted to the Alumni email address, eg. studentID@alumni.np.edu.sg

All folders and existing email in the student account will continue to be available in the Alumni mailbox.

Upgrade of student email

Students' Connect Mail accounts will be upgraded from Live@edu to Microsoft Office 365 platform on 13 June 2013.

There will be no change in students' email addresses after the upgrade.

NP Acceptable Use Policy

As the IT resources in NP facilitates teaching, learning, administration and other functions of the Polytechnic, it is important that staff and students use the resources in an ethical and responsible manner.

Staff and students should familiarise themselves with the IT policies and guidelines governing the fair and responsible use of NP's IT resources which includes internet access, usage and social networking through NP's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) at http://www.np.edu.sg/aup

Portable Hard Disk and Encryption Tools

It is important that staff adopt good security practices. When storing sensitive information electronically, only officially issued electronic storage media shall be used. The storage media shall be secured with encryption. Staff are reminded to store portable hard disk issued by department in locked drawers and cabinets.

Staff shall use encryption tools such as RMS (Microsoft Rights Management Services) or TrueCrypt to encrypt the sensitive information before storing in electronic portable storage. CC is sharing with staff on how to safeguard data stored in their computers and portable hard disks using these tools on 28 May, 29 May, 6 Jun and 7 Jun. Registration details have been sent through Secretaries.

Students' mobile numbers in NPal

In the newslett for students, they are reminded to register or update their mobile number in the NPal Student system https://npalstudent.np.edu.sg

The registered Mobile Number is the only valid number from which our NPal Student system will accept a 2-way SMS request for personal information, e.g. class timetable, NAPFA test result.

Students' mobile numbers will also be used for SMS notifications from NP e.g. Exam Results notification.
