"Savers" Adware

If your web browser is constantly "under attack" from pop-ups displaying discount coupons or savers ads, adware such as "Continue To Save" and "Save On" may have infected your computer.

"Savers" adware are often bundled with shareware or freeware that requires your consent to a User Agreement before installation.

Always pay attention when installing free downloaded apps and opt for the customize installation to exclude suspicious add-ons that comes with the app.

To remove suspected adware, download a reputable anti-adware tool like "malwarebytes" to scan your computer or visit the IT Helpdesk for assistance.

Useful Tips For Windows 8.1

Windows 8.1 has a new look and feel which is very different from its predecessor, the Windows 7. Here are some useful tips to help you navigate in Windows 8.1.

• The "Windows 7" desktop that Windows 7 users are familiar with, can be accessed by clicking on the Desktop tile.
• A full list of installed applications can be viewed by either clicking the down arrow in the lower left-hand side of the Start menu, or by performing a swipe-down for a touch screen.
• Bringing the mouse cursor to the top left corner will display all the apps that have being opened, while the top right will display the Charms menu which provides access to the Settings, Search and other system functions.
