Smart Phone Virus PreventionIf you experience the below symptoms on your smartphone, your phone could be infected with a malware or virus. - Sudden spike in your data plan's usage
- Suspicious SMS charges or surge in phone bill
- Battery draining very quickly
- Phone keeps crashing or calls get disrupted frequently
To clean the malware, an anti-malware app such as 360 Mobile Security could be used to remove the malware or the smartphone could be restored to its factory default at home or at the service provider's store. Here are some virus prevention tips: - If possible, download the app file to your computer and scan the downloaded file on your computer with an antivirus software first before installing it on your smartphone
- Only download mobile apps from a secure or reputable website
- Configure your device to 'hidden' mode if your bluetooth is turned on, to avoid accepting files from unknown users
- Do not install apps which are not meant for your smartphone's model, Android version or iOS version
